Speed Watchdog Alerts
Not everyone keeps a vigilant eye on speed measurement tools as often as they should. We get it—this is something we’ve learned from our experience in speed consultancy.
When designing the Speed Watchdog, we kept this in mind. Our goal was for you to only visit the speed tester application when there’s a specific problem to tackle.
🔐 The Watchdog and notification settings are features available exclusively in PLUS tests.
Properly configured notifications and their evaluation are part of the Performance Budgets topic, serving as the bedrock of your website’s speed care.
The Speed Watchdog offers several ways to receive information about issues or improvements in a passive manner.
Heads up, something’s happening with your speed. Better check it out.
Watchdog alerts come both when something goes awry (1) and when we have good news for you (2).
Each report also includes a guide on how to evaluate this information.
Email Notifications
Speed Watchdog email alerts are sent to every Team member.
You can, of course, turn them off with a single click from the incoming email or within Email Settings.

Slack and Teams Notifications
Notifications to Slack and Teams are especially useful if you already use these tools for internal communication.
Get important and good news sent to Slack.
To properly set up notifications for Slack and Teams, you'll need to follow a few steps:
- If you’re the Account Administrator, go to the specific test.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Create a new channel in Slack or a chat in Teams.
- Name the channel based on context (e.g., your company name or the channel name where notifications will go).
- Create a webhook for Slack or Teams. Follow the Slack guide or Teams guide.
- If you need to send notifications to multiple channels, you can add as many as needed by clicking “+”.

We highly recommend setting up Watchdog notifications. Designate someone responsible for checking them regularly.
